#GivingTuesday is right around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time to support your favorite nonprofit — Photo Start! Our goal is to raise $1,000 this holiday season, but we need your help. Before you buy that Venti coffee before work, or that one-last-drink at the bar, or the late night pizza that you’re really not sure you want, take a minute to think about what your $5/$10/$20 could do…
It costs $2 a day for a student to participate in Photo Start. In Nairobi alone, we have an average of 40 active students participating every day, a number that is growing steadily. The costs add up pretty quick; but you can help! Donate just $10 and you’ll enable a child to go to class for an entire week — how amazing is that?
This GivingTuesday, we’re also raising money to give our students a little something special. If you donate $20, a Photo Start student will not only receive the gift of class for a week, but also a special gift during the holidays! What’s more, if you give $25, you will send a child to class for a week, they will receive their gift, and you will receive a printed copy of one of your sponsored child’s photos! This is an incredible way to commemorate your generous donation.
Once you’ve made your first donation, we know that you’ll be hooked. If you want to give all the time with very little hassle, be sure to shop on Amazon using our Smile link! All you have to do is shop on Amazon using smile.amazon.com and a percentage of all of your eligible purchases will be donated to Photo Start. It’s an easy and effective way to give year round!
Photo Start is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, which means that we rely on the generosity of strangers. Without the help and support of people like you we wouldn’t be able to take on all of the work that we are now carrying out. We rely on your generosity to buy materials, run workshops, and manage equipment. The kids need you to dig deep, skip the Uber Black this week, and donate the savings to Photo Start!
Not only do all donations come with the knowledge that you have helped change the lives of children in need, they’re also tax deductible. That means that come Jan. 1 (or if you’re like me, April 14…) you’ll get to deduct your contribution from the taxes you owe. Talk about a win-win!
So, what’re you waiting for? Click here to donate now, share your donation on social media, and encourage your friends to do the same! Thanks so much in advance for your help — we, and the kids, really appreciate it 🙂
